Searching for some hope
The butterfly is cocooned
Anticipation

Some people just take
They soak you all up, bone dry
And keep failing you
*
A knife in the heart
Pain radiates, leaking out
How can this be life?
*
The sun nourishes
Recalibrating us all
It feels good to feel
*
Failing to find speech
Trapped inside, my mouth covered
The mind allows this
*
Plummeting to Earth
From its celestial throne
Fading to nothing
*
Put me in a box
Secure the lid best you can
She will still find me

This was supposed to be the day for my second part of an American Immigrant story. Life sometimes gets in the way. We had an injured pup to take care of over the weekend (she’s fine now) and I’ve decided to push the story another week.
But wait…there’s more!
(It’s just a haiku)
*
Alone and afraid
The trek, only part of it
Hate still awaits them
*
They come for it all
You waver but still hold true
Bronzed for the ages
*
Running, frolicking
Soaking it all in and more
Endless, joyful days
