Winter’s Warning – A New Poem

Snow doesn’t fall so much as float

Working its way down from the heavens

Like little specks of purity

*

The world goes still as it ponders what’s next

The blanket of a new dawn

And the hope that comes with rebirth

*

The soft crunch beneath our feet

Like a sigh of compliance

Because we are so desperate to leave our mark

*

Snowfall continues its mission

To hide our sins beneath its cool embrace

And force us to pause and take stock
